Welcome again to Playwrite, the forum for all your text-based fun. That is, roleplay, creative writing and mafia games.
Originally part of a larger existing community, we have now struck out on our own to brave the internet at large and create a new internet home that can truly be ours. The Playwrite staff are dedicated to making this website a comfortable place to enjoy text-based games and hobbies, to growing our tight-knit community and to ensuring that this website thrives. However, in order to do that we ask that users play their part by reading up on our rules and frequently asked questions.
The Rules
Be respectful - It goes without saying that a healthy community is one that treats each other with kindness and respect. You don't need to agree with someone, or even like them, but you do need to be nice. Being rude or otherwise unpleasant to people doesn't just offend that user but it makes you look bad and causes others to become uncomfortable. Don't be a dick.
No porn or gore - While we are mostly a community of adults and try to be quite, there are minors among us and it isn't our job to corrupt them, leave that to reddit and 4chan. It's perfectly okay to reference violent or more adult things, but do not share explicitly sexual or overly bloody content on this site. If you're unsure if something is too much, ask a member of staff.
No advertising - We are a tight-knit community here and it's not appreciated when you invade this space just to promote yourself or try to poach members.
No spam - Spam generally refers to non-contributory or excessively off-topic posting, especially when done en masse. This disrupts the flow of things and is just plain annoying. Don't.
Post in the correct section - We understand that accidents can happen, especially because our forum names tend to follow cute naming schemes. That being said, every forum link comes with a partnered description, so it isn't that difficult to work out where your posts belong. Continued posting in the wrong place will be treated similarly to spam because it creates unnecessary work for staffers. If you're really not sure where a post belongs, ask a moderator.
Make sure you know section-specific rules - Some forums here may have rules specific to that forum. Before posting somewhere, make sure you are aware of any different rules that section might have.
Three Strike Policy
Here on Playwrite, we have a three-strike policy regarding breaking rules. Breaking one of the above rules will incur a warning from a member of staff which will inform you of the rule you violated. Incurring thee of these warning will result in you receiving a two-week ban. Returning after your first ban will result in a reduction of your warning chances to one warning before further offences will incur a month long ban. Returning after a month long ban and continuing to break rules will result in an immediate and permanent ban. Strikeception.
