It's too hard to pick just one. Skellen, Giron, Kade, McGregor, Hostage and Jailer are all so much fun to write as. Although the latter two are the most fun when handled as a unit.

for me Odette definitely (: i feel like she was the character i developed most and knew best as a result, i think. everything just seemed to fit and make sense about her personality and background.
though Eri Takanashi from the brief Persona RP comes to mind as well!

oh goodness impossible questions the interesting thing about a lot of my characters is that many that I create for the purposes of a rp might eventually get integrated into the concept for the novel series that I intend to write (one day, I swear I've started it a few times now) a great example of this is a character that you'd actually know Dragon , being Colette from Skymin's old TWEWY x Pokemon rp. That was ages ago, but since then she has become an integral part of the story I have planned out for my books, and she's one of my favorite characters (and has been developed so much over the years as compared to when I first RPed as her) In a similar vein as Colette, Destiny (whom I've used in a few things, I believe, including one rp by Glitter ), who is one of my "original three" characters (Kris, Krystal & Destiny) has always been one of my favorites, and continues to be as she's evolved and grown within my own mind and stories ever since her inception. There's also plenty of other characters that were much more short-lived, but no less interesting and who I'd like to revisit on day, such as Maiara from Titans, Kosmas from Parivir's Kingsmarch, who I sadly never even got to make a single post as, though the character himself was just so . . . dark, but interesting, and he's actually the most recent rp character that I've created. edit: [I also can't forget Alma from Colony/Songbird's Vale Institute of Magic, who is literally one of my most explored characters as far as actual, non-RP writing content lmao] Beyond that, well . . . it was always well known that I had a thing for creating characters lmao, so I certainly have no shortage to pick from and i'm an indecisive ho that cbf'd to make such hard choices

Another one from Dragon's Persona RP. I loved Kazue. Just an unlikable asshole with a whole host of emotional issues.

I definitely love RPing as Emma Kuzunoha in Pokemon Z for her depth; but I also admire Lynn Colthearts from Acarnum. :3

Within this community it would easily be Sammy, my character from the original PTA.
Overall though? Damn. In forum based roleplays I really can't call that, I had a host of characters in a fantasy setting I used to write in. This was over ten years ago now but I still think about those characters all the time with a huge amount of fondness. One of the people I used to RP with back then has actually released a fantasy novel since and asked for permission for some of my old characters to have cameo/bit parts. I was really honoured, it's cool to know some of them exist in print even if I've never mustered up the motivation to write a book myself.
I used to game a lot in a now sadly closed superhero MMO called City of Heroes, and one of my favourite RP characters of all time is from there. A few are, actually. Laugh Riot, who became Headliner, a kind of cross between Joker and Juggernaut. Dynova, my Czech mad scientist lady. Synergy, whose journey is far too long to summarise here.
It's nice to remember all those old characters but it makes me sad to know I don't play them anymore and likely never will again.

I think one of my favorite characters to play as was Barnabas and Facio Benedevici, although their lives were relatively short since the first masks rp didn't last that long. I'd actually planned out a lot of story for them and had started to write in certain parts that would be safe to go ahead and put down while the ideas were hot in my mind.
Another of my favorites would be Deuseas. He was extremely nerfed compared to his source version (which was made for a game of silver age sentinels) and was relatively weak compared to the other characters in the rp, but the fights that I'd put him in and the story that was being built for him was interesting to say the least, and i was certainly devastated when the rp finally closed down.
Finally, I guess my most favorite character would come down to a tie between jebediah and alice from gunpowder. Both of the characters are ridiculously powerful and were incredibly fun to play and write as in the beginning as it usually resulted in chaos and general destruction such as entire towns being leveled multiple times. Alice and the demon Vereryl that possesses her moved along and created a significant amount of story and lore for gunpowder, while also being a massive hurdle for Jebediah to overcome which resulted in several less than desirable situations for him. Also, Jeb's basically my first text based rp character so I'm a little biased towards him.

Not sure if I can point out an all-time favorite character of mine, but there are a few of note.
Yorick Amherst Lee from Youkai Academy was interesting to write because, aside from being a silly character I could have fun with, his unique circumstances resulted in him having an skewed priorities and an unconventional morality. I especially liked that aspect and seeing how it clashed with the rest of the cast.
Anselme Gwenael Ducreux from Begin Again stands out to me in a similar vein, as a character who doesn't belong in the world he's found himself, but in a different way. He was functionally an "ordinary guy who ended up in the Pokemon world", but he couldn't be too out of place since it was still a Pokemon RP taking place in the Pokemon world. Writing for him also inspired me to take a different approach to depicting the pokemon world, since a jaded, thirty-year-old janitor with no talents or aspirations forced on his journey against his will would probably see it differently than the usual plucky, upstart teenager dreaming of becoming the very best.
Finally I have to mention Brooke Webster from As the Dust Settles, who I loved mostly because of how much fun I had working with her weapons and abilities, both of which were constantly evolving.

Eric Damon's backstory for PTA was inspired by the works of Rudyard Kipling (The Jungle Books), and to an extent, William Shakespeare's tragedies (particularly Hamlet, Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, Othello, and King Lear [in that order]). His future (post graduation) will likely take some inspiration from Star Wars Original Trilogy. I'll continue his character after PTA, where he will become like the Pokémon equivalent of a Jedi Knight after he's out and about in the outside world. He will learn to use the Aura (which is kind of like the Force, but not as OP), and a weapon that's like a cross between a Keyblade and a Lightsaber, (tentatively called the Auratana) whenever he reaches adulthood. And yes, Auratana is a mix of Aura and Katana.
